Care is amazing. We wanted to adopt and a friend told us to check out this page. So glad we did. We found our puppy. At that time she went by “puppy 258”. Today she goes by charli. She is the best thing that has happened to us. Communication with Care was awesome. They quickly responded to any questions we had. Once we were approved for the adoption they set her up with a foster who sent us pictures and daily updates. 2 weeks later she flew from Texas to Pittsburgh. When we picked her up from the airport the airport personnel asked us to take her out of the crate so they could pet her cuz she was just to cute. Charli was found locked under a porch. She had to be treated for fleas, ticks, and worms. She was also spayed. Then with the flight to Pittsburgh we were expecting it to be pretty expensive, which we were more than willing to pay. But the cost of everything was surprisingly inexpensive. You hear of a lot of scams, so at first ur hesitant to send money to anyone out of state for a puppy. Care quickly put our minds at ease with constant lines of communication. Highly recommend care for anyone looking to adopt.
We are so in love with our dog, Quill, and will forever be grateful to CARE for giving him a second chance. We live all the way in Seattle, and were amazed by how quickly and smoothly CARE was able to arrange travel for our boy. He is a larger dog, and when CARE realized he would need special arrangements (a larger kennel and a special cargo flight), they started a fundraiser instead of asking us to pay anything more than the standard adoption fee. One of their wonderful volunteers even drove our dog all the way to Austin just so he could make it on the earliest available flight to Seattle. Peggy, Stephanie and Jessy are so incredibly helpful and sweet – they answered all my questions about Quill and gave me regular updates about his travel plan. For those who are looking to adopt a dog and have concerns about going with a non-local rescue: it might seem more complicated to adopt a dog who is far away, but CARE makes it a painless and extremely rewarding process.
In July 2016, we lost our family dog of 11 years, Ringo Starr. (Rest in Peace, Stink.) I began to miss the companionship of a dog, I was really getting into hiking, and wanted a ball of light to bring a smile to my face when I came home from work again. In February 2017, I started looking on PetFinder kind of as a joke. I learned I shouldn’t have done that because this little potato was maybe the fifth puppy I stumbled upon and then started comparing him to other puppies. I became paranoid almost, worried I would go back to his page and see he had already been adopted. I got the approval from the rest of the family, had a phone interview with Cressie Animal Refuge and Enrichment (CARE) the next day, was accepted as a suitable adopter on the spot, and then three weeks later, Ziggy Stardog flew out of San Antonio, TX up to Seattle, WA. The rest is history. Thanks, @caretxrescue !!!
We adopted our pup Piper last year in November and we are so grateful for Care, they were so kind and responsive to our questions and were a delight to deal with during the delivery of our little fur baby. Piper has been an amazing addition to our family and we can only thank Care for that Thank you
I should have written this review almost a year ago, but better late than never! We rescued our (now) 1 year old pup from CARE last May and we are so thankful daily! The communication was quick, efficient and pleasant with anyone we came in contact with and they even had a foster drive Cooper up from San Antonio (for a totally reasonable additional fee)! We love following CARE now and seeing all of the sweet pups they are helping find furever homes for across the country.
We recently adopted Missy (formerly Selina) from CARE and the whole experience was fantastic. We met her a first time for a meet and greet and then did a second meet and greet to introduce her to our pup Fezzik. Everything went fantastic! My husband and I were leaving for our wedding the following day and CARE arranged for Missy to stay in foster until we returned. They were super responsive and so nice. We then were able to pick her up from the rescue vets office the day we returned! She is fitting in wonderfully and we love her so much!!
We adopted Benny in September 2017 and he’s been the best addition to our family. Thank you so much for all you do, from rescuing these sweet animals, to caring enough to get them to a good home! Benny is now a Canadian – and I think he likes it… even with the cold weather.
We got our Puppy Baloo from these guys. Everything worked out perfectly and the staff were amazing.
Update | Baloo is now one years old, he’s our absolute world. We’ve heard horror stories about distance adoption – we brought Baloo to Vancouver, BC. However, this adoption agency were perfect, our family member is healthy and perfect and in love with his new home.
I adopted Deana in July. It was so easy. We are thinking about adopting a 2nd just because Deana now named Roxanne is full of energy and loves other dogs. Given the chance she will play all day until she puts herself to bed. I highly recommend Care for any adoptions.
We rescued our pup from CARE last March and had the most pleasant experience with them. They were open and honest about him and gave us lots of details to make sure he fit with our family. I can’t imagine our life without Aiden (now Madden!)
We adopted Peyton back in June, it was a long distance adoption as we live in Canada. It was a smooth transition and the CARE team was amazing. I run a family daycare and was turned away by many rescue groups because of this. CARE did not, they listened to what our needs were and helped to match us up with the perfect dog for our situation. They did a fantastic job and Peyton has fit wonderfully into our family as well as my daycare family. We feel so blessed to have her as part of our family, thank-you you are all angels.
CARE safely flew Rory to us and followed up with necessary paperwork, etc. We loved the pictures and videos we got prior to her arrival. We’re so thankful for the work CARE does and how easy they made the process of adopting a dog.
